There are many natural acne remedies being offered on the market today as alternatives to conventional acne treatments. Do these herbal products work?
The manufacturers claim they do. There are plenty of satisfied customers that say they do. The problem with herbal acne remedies lies not in the lack of testimonials but in the lack of scientific proof to back those testimonials.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) governs pharmaceutical products but there is no such agency to validate the health related claims of herbal products so, you must rely on your own judgement.

I need something functional for my teen sister so something that is safe with little to no side effects would be good.

Do you have hard pustules or inflamed red nodules on your skin that are filled with a puss or bloody substance? If so, you are probably suffering from a condition known as cystic acne. It’s basically a variation on acne vulgaris, but it’s more painful and much more likely to cause permanent scarring on your body. To combat this and prevent it from happening, you need a cystic acne treatment. Here are some of the best options for this type of problem, ones that have been used by many people (including myself) to get rid of unwanted cystic acne.
1. Sulfur treatments: Oftentimes one of the best ways to get rid of acne, especially the cysts, is with sulfur. You can usually find sulfur treatments online, as they’re less prevalent at places like Walmart and Target, or you can get them through ordering Proactiv. If you order a Proactiv kit, it usually is offered as a free bonus cream.

Does it hurt?
How long does it take?
Does it really work, is it COMPLETELY gone?

It doesn’t matter how old you are – anyone can suffer from cystic acne. It’s not easy to treat cystic acne, as it’s usually deeper down and more painful than most regular acne that attacks your face. What’s worse, cystic acne generally lands itself on your face, back, and chest, giving you a three-way pain system. If this sounds like you, then you definitely need to look into these cystic acne treatment options.
1. SkinMedica treatment kit: SkinMedica is one of the leading brands of acne treatment systems on the market. It’s dermatologist-recommended and since it uses both benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, it’s very effective on cystic acne and regular acne alike.

No matter how old you are, you are always at risk for suffering from acne. If your acne is hormonal, chances are you’ll also suffer from cystic acne, which is generally more difficult to get rid of than typical acne vulgaris. Cystic acne is formed like regular acne, except it enlarges your pore and digs down into the lower layers of the epidermis, leaving a hard, puss or blood-filled nodule in your back, face, or chest. If this describes your acne, you need to find a cystic acne treatment before your skin begins to scar.
Some of the best cystic acne treatment options I’ve found are right here:
