Will Using Hormonal Acne Treatments Help

Article by Declan Tobin

A lot of people suffering with acne may think about using hormonal acne treatments as a good way of stopping it. A hormonal imbalance is among the premiere reasons behind acne, and is the main reason why so many adults, not only teenagers, are suffering from this skin ailment.

Pregnant women are especially prone to acne, since the hormones associated with being pregnant often make the overproduction of oil in the skin. This can affect many people at different ages and if you discover that you are beginning to suffer from this you may need to look for an acne treatment which could help to rebalance hormones.

best prescription topical and oral treatment for cystic acne?!

CYSTIC ACNE HELP PLEASE?

look, i hate acne just as much as the rest of us, but thanks to my parents wonderful genes, i have cystic acne, and its really not bad anymore, but sometimes i get these cycst-like pimples that WILL NOT GO AWAY and they are so f***ing embarrassing, because they’re so deep that they cant even really be covered up. theyre like little hills, and even having one is just absolutely disgusting. does anyone else have this issue? im not talking about the kind of acne you can pop and et rid of, and surface treatments like proactive dont work, because these are deep in the pore. does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of these a little bit more quickly? waiting on these takes weeks sometimes, even when i wash my face a ton and exfoliate. thank you and God Bless!!

Help! Acne is taking over my skin!?

I am 20 years old. I used to have fairly clear skin with a breakout every now and then, but now it’s constant! I get huge, painful, yellow-headed zits all over my chin. Now I’ve started getting them on the sides of my face near my ears. I used a topical treatment, I tried proactic, and I take tetracycline. I also cleanse twice a day with acne fighting cleanser, as well as tone. I use an acne mask once a week, plus I exercise, drink water, and use a sauna. I don’t understand why this is happening. Somebody told me it’s probably hormonal, but I don’t know what I can do about it if it is! Can someone please give me some advice?

HELP! what can i do for my severe acne?

PLEASE READ MY WHOLE QUESTION; I REALLY WANT ACCURATE ANSWERS :)

so i’m fifteen, and like most other teenagers, i have acne. but recently, it has gotten to the worst it has ever been before. i used to break out in my T-zone, and i usually had a few zits on my face all the time, but it was manageable. but in the last two months, i’ve developed small whiteheads that now cover my entire forehead, as well as severe cystic acne and whiteheads all over my chin. i also break out on the sides of my nose and in between my eyes. the only places i have no zits are my cheeks and nose.
i used proactiv for over a year until last December. i felt like it worked okay but it only gave me clear skin after three months of using it, plus the clear skin only lasted about 2 months and i was back to moderate acne that was manageable, but still really bothered me.
after hearing great reviews about it, i decided i wanted to try the Clinique 3-step system. that was probably the worst decision i’ve ever made. instead of gradually improving my acne, it gradually made it worse and worse. i never had acne on my forehead until i used that, and my chin went from one or two small zits at a time on it to being completely covered in painful, red, cystic acne that i now have and can’t get rid of. after giving the Clinique two full months to work, i stopped using it about 2 and a half weeks ago. for the past week i’ve been using a natural brand- Burt’s Bees Acne Treatment System. Even though its only been a week, i don’t see any improvements whatsoever.

My mom won’t take me to the dermatologist because of the high cost, but she says that i really should use Proactiv again because she thinks it worked for me. I just am not sure if i should go back to Proactiv if there’s something better out there, that will really clear my acne and keep it gone. I want to try the Clean & Clear Acne Control Kit, as it has great reviews and one of my close friends swears by it. So i guess my question to you is- should i convince my mom to take me to the dermatologist, go back to Proactiv, try Clean & Clear, or do you know of something else that would work for me?

Will cleansers, soaps, and body washes without typical acne treatments (i.e. salycilic acid, benzoyl peroxide) help clear acne?

I am 14 and a half years old and I have chest and back acne. I started using Exfoliac long ago but in short terms ( 3 days in a row). Last week, I decided I would use it everyday like my doctor prescribed. It’s been fine until now, with some little tingling feelings. Today, after putting the Exfoliac on, the chest acne really started burning, and the skin became reddish. What can I do? Should I stop the treatment ? Help !

I have tried everything but they either don’t work or dry my skin out so much that it takes about a week to recover. My mom is against taking a pill for acne because she is worried that I may not be able to have kids when I am older. I agree, but not for every medicine out there. I tried to explain to her that we can go to the dermotologist and ask what ones could have risks. Btw, Im 13 and it is only getting worse. Here is what I have used.

-ProActive
-Clean and clear products
-neutrogena products
-toothpaste
-dermetologist prescribed creams (Cant remember the names but they dry my skin out and hurt when I use them)

Difficult decision about acne. Help?

I finally decided to do something about my acne. I’ve had it for about 2 years and it’s spreading all over my face no matter how much I take care of my face and wash it and everything. I made an appointment with the dermatologist and it’s in about 2 months.
But my mom told me she knows a dermatologist and that he would give me free laser treatments. It’s great an all but laser treatment isn’t permanent. The acne is better for about a year and then comes back and I’m pretty sure mine will come back because it’s hormonal. I told this to my mom and she said that if I’d go to the dermatologist it wouldn’t be any better. The dermatologist would say my acne isn’t that bad and suggest a cream (that doesn’t work) and say goodbye.
So now I have a choice.
Go to the laser treatment and ged rid of acne for about 7 months OR
go to the dermatologist and hope he will see the suffering the acne has caused me and do something about it.
