I have a new friend that has really severe acne. I do not think he is seeking professional treatment, maybe because of money issues, I’m not really sure. This part is gross so don’t read if your squeemish. He must have had a ruptured cyst or something because there was a spot on my couch. I like this person very much but you just can’t go around oozing on peoples stuff. I’d like to add that he is very self concious about it and I can tell he is embarrassed by it. We don’t talk about it though. It’s like the White Elephant in the room. How can I approch him about either seeking treatment or at least trying an OTC product? I just don’t know how to approach the subject.

I finally decided to do something about my acne. I’ve had it for about 2 years and it’s spreading all over my face no matter how much I take care of my face and wash it and everything. I made an appointment with the dermatologist and it’s in about 2 months.
But my mom told me she knows a dermatologist and that he would give me free laser treatments. It’s great an all but laser treatment isn’t permanent. The acne is better for about a year and then comes back and I’m pretty sure mine will come back because it’s hormonal. I told this to my mom and she said that if I’d go to the dermatologist it wouldn’t be any better. The dermatologist would say my acne isn’t that bad and suggest a cream (that doesn’t work) and say goodbye.
So now I have a choice.
Go to the laser treatment and ged rid of acne for about 7 months OR
go to the dermatologist and hope he will see the suffering the acne has caused me and do something about it.

You should be aware that these methods will not stop the acne, but they will help to prevent new spots developing.
The most common form of treatment and the one that is likely to be recommended by your doctor is benzoyl peroxide. Acne is usually caused by excess oil production that blocked the pores in the skin. Ok so i have had this new kind of acne on my face for the last 5 months and it is really starting to bother me. I used to have acne on the forehead mainly but that has cleared up and now once that area cleared i have had a ton of acne on my jawline. I am 19 and i am a guy. I have heard that this kind of acne is hormonal but I am not sure how true that is and does that affect men and women or just women? The acne is terrible and it is starting to wreck my self confidence. It is so annoying because it is symmetrical. It is bad on both sides of my face which is really annoying! Right now I am using a sulfur mask 3 days a week and then i am using a neutrogena product with salycylic acid 2 times a day. I have tried basically every product you can except proactiv. Also I drink lots of water and am very active. I clean my sheets and pillow cases once a week. I am very meticulous with my face and my acne and I rarely touch it. I am at a loss because all other acne usually goes away but not this kind. Below is a link to an album I made of my face and the acne spots. The acne you see in the pics is probably the best it has been in a long time but I have spells where it gets better then all of a sudden it gets worse than ever.
If anyone has ever had similar acne please help me and tell me what you did to rid this stuff away. Right now i am up for any treatment or anything no matter the side affects. I just want this stuff gone.
