In most teenagers with acne, their hormones are the direct cause. You may be thinking that acne problems can get passed on through genetics – and you are absolutely correct. First of all, if you are a teen dealing with hormonal-acne, it is certainly recommended that you meet with a dermatologist to discuss your treatment options. Oil builds up inside of your facial pores and combines with other forms of debris that gets into your skin. After a short period of time, your pores become blocked and acne forms.

There is currently no cure on the market for teens with hormonal acne, but there are great hormonal acne treatments of which you can take advantage. Some forms of treatment include specialized skin creams and skin washes. Other types of treatment will involve having you take some form of medication. Whatever you find helpful is what you should be using. It is just a matter of never giving up on the fight against your hormonal acne. As long as you are able to keep trying new treatments, you will be bound to find something that works phenomenally well.

It is good to understand that some people who have hormone-induced acne will not have it to a severe degree. Some individuals have much more stable hormone levels and may develop hormonal acne to only a small extent. It is hoped that if you are battling hormonal acne that you are able to get some help. The first step for people with severe acne to take is to visit their dermatologist. By visiting with a dermatologist, they are helping to get their skin assessed and treated by a professional. Dermatologists are able to understand what works best for your hormonal acne and will tell you exactly how you should go about treating it. If your hormonal acne is less severe, you may be able to find an over the counter treatment that works well.
